Artist Statement
At the core of my work is a deep commitment to community and the stories that unite us. Through photography and video projects, I aim to highlight diverse voices and experiences, giving visibility to underrepresented groups. My creative practice is grounded in the belief that every person’s story is worth telling and that these stories can foster understanding and connection.
Whether I’m capturing the intimate moments of a friend or documenting an artist’s journey, I approach each project with an eye toward authenticity and relatability. I’m particularly inspired by the intersections of culture, identity, and place, and how these elements shape our sense of self and belonging. In my recent photography work, such as the portrait series of Georgina Rios and Nube Hawk Cruz, I focused on capturing the human side of everyday experiences, while also reflecting the broader cultural and social contexts that inform their lives.
My work as a visual storyteller is not just about making images; it’s about creating a space for dialogue and reflection. I believe in the power of visual media to break down barriers, celebrate individuality, and bring people together. Through my lens, I seek to explore the complexities of identity, community, and the spaces in between, creating work that resonates with both individuals and communities alike.
